Problem:
Tramp iron caused problems with wet phosphate at Davison Chemical in Bartow, FL, USA. Jam-ups caused downtime and production losses. The tramp iron also damaged machinery and aroused the ire of customers.
Solution:
An Eriez self-cleaning, inline
Suspended Electromagnet ended the trouble. It was installed over the head pulley of a conveyor belt carrying 300 tons per hour of the wet phosphate. Their chief engineer said that the Eriez magnet removed virtually all of the tramp iron.
