ERIEZ IN THE COMMUNITY

Habitat for Humanity Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with God and people everywhere, from all walks of life, to develop communities with people in need by building and renovating houses so that there are decent houses in decent communities in which every person can experience God’s love and can live and grow into all that God intends.  Eriez sponsored a home in Eriez and employees participated in the construction alongside the homeowner.
Heart Walk The Heart Walk, an American HEART Association event, allows the public to join more than a million people in 300+ cities across America in taking a stand against heart disease and helping save lives.  Eriez is a proud sponsor and participant in the event each year.
Tall Ships One hundred fifty Eriez customers, employees and their guests attended a private reception aboard a replica of the merchant ship Bounty at Erie’s Tall Ships Festival.  Erie’s Flagship Niagara, The Bounty and four other tall ships attracted an estimated 40,000 people to the festivities at Dobbins Landing and the Maritime Museum on the South shore of Presque Isle Bay.
According to President and CEO Tim Shuttleworth, “We saw the reception as an opportunity to show our appreciation to some of our customers and Eriez staff.  Our support of the Flagship Niagara is important to the community and to the entire area, as well.”  The event was held to raise money for The Niagara League, which provides major funding for the Flagship Niagara now that the State and Federal governments have withdrawn virtually all financial support.

Experience Erie Children's Museum Eriez Magnetics has developed an educational magnet exhibit for the ExpERIEnce Children’s Museum.  The “Explore the History, Mystery and Magic of Magnets” exhibit has six interactive stations allowing children to see how magnets work, and explore various uses for them.  While playing, the children will learn basic properties of magnetism; find out what is attracted to magnets and what is repelled.  How do magnets help to move things, and how do they help us find our way?
